Ethnic identity wars. Everyone has been covering this latest example of anachronistic academic malevolence, but Scott has an angle no one else has picked up on: Ward Churchill's Native American identity is in question. Lileks has more.

Also, Churchill seems to be the kind of megalomaniac leftist academic who uses his power to assign grades to punish students who disagree with him.

At 12:01 PM, Anonymous said...: The funny thing is that the original Instapundit post on this subject linked to a WSJ piece that mentioned the controversy about Churchill's background. For some reason, no one seems to have noticed it and the whole topic reappeared yesterday, as if out of nowhere.
