Nice Jewish Girl, Meet Sleazy New York Burlesque:
She promised her mother she wouldn’t take her clothes off. But she didn’t say no one else would. And so, each Monday in March — mixed in with stand-up comedy and soulful acoustic guitar — Susannah Perlman (aka “The Goddess”) takes the mic at Fez to introduce a performer who wiggles out of everything but pasties and panties. (Fez is at 380 Lafayette St., Manhattan [212] 533-7000.)

Last week, it was Little Brooklyn, who first appeared as a tight-aproned 1950s-era housewife but soon revealed an unbridled enthusiasm for dishwashing and disrobing.

When Perlman started her “Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad” she didn’t know many Jewish girls who would “take it off,” she said. But following the burlesque show’s premiere at the February 2003 launch party for Heeb magazine, she’s “found a lot.” ("What's a Nice Jewish Girl...", The Jewish Week)
