Anyone but Kerry Dept. I was kinda hoping that Joe Leiberman would cross the aisle for this election, like Zell Miller and Ed Koch, but no such luck. He's campaigning with Kerry to the Florida Jews. Gotta win Florida . . .

(See what I mean about Zell Miller? A mensch.)

Michael Totten says John Kerry doesn't know the First Rule of Holes. So which VP choice will fill the holes that Kerry digs? NYC LGFer Steve suggests a dark horse.

(Speaking of VPs, I wish Bush would pick Giuliani. The 9-11 president with the 9-11 mayor. It's been argued the anti-abortion bloc would veto him because he's pro-choice, but no one has been more wrapped in the American flag since 9-11 than Giuliani, so I don't think they would dare. Condi is also frequently suggested as a good choice for VP, but her symbolic value is overrated. Leftist feminists won't vote Bush even if he has a woman on the ticket, and blacks won't vote Bush just because he has a black on the ticket, and generic white feminists (like me) won't pick our candidate just for that reason when so much is at stake. I'd rather see Condi as Sec State, and not tempt the vague irrational residual discomfort many traditional voters still feel about a woman so close to the most powerful job in the world.)

Jeff is still at it.

This should probably be a whole new post, but soon we we may not have Kerry to kick around any more. Democratic opinion has proceeded from lack of enthusiasm for Kerry to desperate casting about for other candidates. I would vote for any of the three Democrats I mentioned in the first paragraph, but I suspect that's a minority view.
